The Role

We are looking for a Test Analyst who enjoys automating.  We are on a journey to automate our testing, build and deployment and you will play an important role both automating and encouraging automation within the team.  We will need you to build and grow our QA and test capability, defaulting to automated testing.

We are keen to work with someone who has QA experience or a development background and is passionate about quality software.  You may have guided or been part of the introduction of automated testing into a software team and relish the challenge of delivering a similar change for us.

Alongside your experience, attitude is a key factor. We want someone who enjoys their work, a willingness to muck in when needed, to push for the things you believe need to be done, a belief that constant small improvements are an essential element of successful software development are important to us. We are keen to work with someone who enjoys both learning and sharing their knowledge.


How will you contribute on a day-to-day basis

In this role, you’ll collaborate with colleagues to design, maintain and execute both manual and automated testing of APIs, test data and web products.  You’ll ensure consistency and sufficient test coverage of all areas of our product utilising regression and risk-based test approaches. Whilst working as part of an Agile scrum software development team You’ll design and write test scripts, capture all test evidence, deliver fully tested quality products and ensure requirements and on-going changes in requirements are fully met.


What will make you the right fit for the team

We’re looking for a couple of years’ experience with automation and testing preferably with CV.  You’ll have an eye for detail, sound problem-solving ability and practical experience of Agile testing.

Experience with testing APIs and an understanding of RESTful services is ideal. You’ll have experience defect tracking systems, SQL, JIRA, Zephyr, Jenkins and tools like Postman.

Skills, Experience and Attributes Required

Suitable candidates would have a minimum of 2 years testing experience across a range of technologies and a strong track record of successful full life-cycle project participation and delivery. You will have some experience of and exposure to the introduction and rollout of automated testing.                                                                        

The following are essential:

  • Introduced or expanded the use of automated testing in previous roles
  • Extensive manual testing experience with demonstrable, test planning, test execution and test case writing experience
  • Ability to interpret business requirements from stakeholders
  • Aptitude to create new tests based on discussions with the business and stakeholders
  • Experience in Testing as part of an Agile process
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in English
  • Live within a commutable distance to Isleworth, Middlesex


Varying degrees of expertise in these would be expected:

  • Able to Influence overall development with a view to improve testability
  • Able to influence overall document production with a view to improve quality
  • Root cause analysis, Risk Management
  • Test automation
  • A pragmatic understanding of TDD
  • Experience with hosted production systems
  • Familiar with Scrum, work prioritisation and the importance of iterative working code
  • Quick learner, able to understand highly complex requirements and systems


In addition, the following would be nice to have:

  • Service based architecture (SOA/Microservices/SaaS)
  • API’s as a product and API testing (Apache JMeter)
  • .Net Web Frameworks and Applications
  • Distributed Systems: messaging based systems/Akka.Net/RabbitMQ/Azure ServiceBus etc
  • Public Cloud/Hybrid Cloud: Azure, AWS, VMWare
  • Single Page Applications: AngularJS/ReactJS/KnockoutJS/EmberJS/Backbone/JQuery/Javascript/HTML5
  • NoSQL: We use MongoDB and Elastic although any no-sql experience is relevant
  • SQL: We use MSSQL
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery: TeamCity/Octopus Deploy/Jenkins/Docker/Hashicorp Tools
