Providing technology and expertise essential to the operations of over 30% of the City's financial institutions the company has built a strong reputation for implementing complex projects on time and has an impressive client list including institutions such as The Bank of England, Standard Life, ABN AMRO and NATS.

We are developing and delivering a growing Product and Solution base building on best in class capability providers with both Cloud and on-premises media hubs, interaction QM and media analytics solutions. Business systems is large enough to have a strong reputation in the City but is small enough that you will interact with the owners and senior managers on a daily basis.

The Role

We are looking for an individual whose primary focus will be as Product Owner with the focus, tenacity and passion to support internal stakeholders and the development team in delivering against project goals, scope and timelines. In addition to the Product Owner role, you will take on the dual responsibility of Product Management tasks as required in support of the Technical Product Manager and other stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for someone with or without previous Product Owner experience to join a growing development team who work using Agile/Scrum to deliver technical solutions to our customer’s business problems.

Alongside potential experience, attitude is a key factor. We want someone who enjoys their work, a willingness to muck in when needed, to push for the things you believe need to be done, and understanding that constant small improvements are an essential element of successful software development.

Skills, Experience and Attributes Required

Suitable candidates would be a graduate from Software Engineering, Computing/IT or potentially Business, or have comparable experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of full life-cycle project participation and delivery.

  • Live within a commutable distance to Isleworth, Middlesex.
  • Team Working Skills - Experience of team working and understanding how your role within the team benefits the whole.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Good awareness of other people/situations and ability to adapt approach accordingly.
  • Able to be flexible and adapt to change.

Key responsibilities/experience ideal:

  • Work with key product stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria to take into the Development team.
    • Ability to interpret a high level specification to create user stories.
    • Ability to take on the user perspective and to reflect this within the stories.
    • Listening Skills – Ability to actively listen to a conversation and be able to understand the salient points as well as listen to the subtle indications/messages which indicate dissatisfaction or an underlying issue.
  • Ensure product stakeholders are kept informed of progress and challenges, providing sufficient detail to allow decisions to be made quickly and effectively for continued progress.
  • Work closely with the Scrum Master, reporting to Technical Product Manager.
  • Take ownership of the product backlog, engaging with appropriate stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and acceptance criteria. 
  • Work with Technical Product Manager to ensure Product Backlog remains prioritised in a timely manner and against agile driven business requirements. 
  • Fully embrace agile development process including daily team scrums, planning and estimating sessions, workshops and stakeholder sprint review/demonstrations.
  • Be an active part of the planning sessions; provide Product Vision input without need for external involvement.
  • Identify where changes to requirements occur that they are suitably reviewed: implications considered, discussed with all relevant stakeholders, sized appropriately, implemented and tested. 
  • Responsible for acceptance of ALL tickets during the Sprint as it is finished, confident to challenge where required.
  • Communication Skills – Awareness of the need to ensure constant communication within the project team and always ask questions when objective(s) are unclear.
  • Quick learner, able to understand highly complex requirements and systems.
  • Able to grasp technical concepts and new product functionality quickly.
  • Attention to detail and consistent application of standards.

Product Management responsibilities 

  • Support Technical Product Manager in completing relevant processes to ensure Products are ready for delivery teams to implement.
  • Able to reflect PM’s product vision to Stakeholders when PM unavailable.


Annual leave starting at 22 days, with incremental stages to increase to a maximum of 27 days, life insurance, matched contribution pension up to 5%, private medical cover, company bonus.
