Recording mobile phones in the Business Systems hosted environment is achieved by using either of our two service offerings. The first is our ‘selective’ recording service and the second is our ‘compliant’ recording service.


Hosted - Mobile Phone Recording

  1. 'selective' recording as the name implies means that the recording process can be switched on/off as required and this option suits many business requirements.
  2. 'compliant' recording means that all calls to and from mobile phones registered to this service will be recorded without exception.

Almost all of today’s modern handsets including Blackberry® are compatible to our hosted service and when registering a handset there is no need to change the supplier contract, the mobile phone number or the carrier network.

How it works
Common to both services, as calls pass through the telecom network they are routed, recorded and stored in a secure data centre. Each recording is indexed with time & date along with the relevant details of the 'calling' or 'called' party and is available for replay immediately after the call has finished. Recordings are accessed by logging into a secure web portal and the recording can be replayed or the file downloaded.

Typical Costs
The hosted mobile phone recording service applies usage-based costing so there is no upfront capital outlay and you are only charged for what you use. This provides enormous benefit and flexibility as individuals and groups can be added or removed as necessary.

Selective recording
Selective recording is provided by using the OPEX Call Craft suite which resides in the telecom network. Phones registered to this service also benefit from being able to receive calls from redirected or overflow numbers and are well suited to on-call and shift-services, welfare visitors, district nursing, emergency services or anyone that needs ‘follow-me’ facilities.

Compliant recording
Compliant recording provides a tamper-proof process in a hosted environment. The application is loaded onto the mobile phone which forces the call to route through the OPEX Network Service where it is recorded and stored.

This configuration mandates without exception that all calls to and from the mobile phone pass the highest standards of compliance as demanded by the financial industry.

Vocal Mobile also records SMS texts in addition to voice calls because the FSA mandates this as a requirement for the finance industry.
